Final images from both shoots

After my second shoot, I was quite sure that I had enough images to make a strong edit and produce a really good sequence with a strong narrative. It was just working out how to get my edit from 35 images down to 20, and then just 10 to print.

I really enjoyed this project and really liked all my images so I had to be really harsh on what stayed and what went.

Below is the contact sheet I made of all my final images from both shoots, I think they all fit together well and tell a story even though they were shot on different days, with different people and the weather was totally different too. I think it shows how strong this little community is even more by, rain or shine they're always going to put in their bit to try and keep their allotment going strong.

Looking at all my images, i decided that all the ones i am going to use in my final edit are going to be landscape because they work better with the project, and also i think the 4 images I've got that are portrait aren't strong enough to fit the edit like the others do.

I was really happy with all the outcomes of these shoots and how lovely and willing everyone was to help me. When i went back for my second shoot, i printed off the images i got off the plot holders the first time i went and handed them out to everyone, and they loved them and were so grateful, and its times like that that make me appreciate what i do and how well i do it sometimes.

My next step is to make an edit of just 20 of my strongest images, which will be used in my presentation and then 10 that i want to print professionally. To do this, I'm going to print out all of the images on the contact sheet above and work out which ones work best to tell the story of the allotments and the community, also getting my course mates help on what they think are the strongest images too.
