I found another photographer named Paul Tucker that also produced a project on allotments. His project didn't involve a lot of people, more of the things that the people used to create the 'unique environment that's somewhere between domesticity and wilderness' and the life cycle of an allotment.
From an allotments dormant state in March to its rapid and full growth in August. This project is a record of the diversity of each plot and provides a document of this change, guided by the human hand or nature itself.
Each of the plot holders cultivate and recycle in many different ways, from using plastic bottles to scare away birds, to home-made scarecrows. This project concentrates more on the elements of the allotment rather than the people, but I think this is also important because it gives more detail and context to each plot and how everyone is individual and how they can make they're own equipment.
Allotments was exhibited in Rouge Restaurant, Redbridge, Essex in 2007.
